Age is just a number”- You may have come across many stories that prove this message. This summer, a group called “The Bridge to Betterment” comprising of just 9th graders has proved it with their own fundraising initiative to help Payir.

The team consisting of five 9th graders of – Atul Shreyas Konda, Laasya Chintapalli, Saanvi Talanki, Sujay Chava, and Vikram Haran- has conducted virtual summer camps in Math, Science, ELA, and Photoshop for fellow school students from July 9th,2021 – August 13th,2021 and raised $1200 through it.

These students have ideated, co-ordinated and organized the different sessions. They have also managed the outreach for the camps and managed the system to collect the donations. Through this camp many school students have learnt new skills in STEM and arts.

The generated fund will be of great use for COVID relief and other developmental activities that will be done by Payir. More than the fund, it is really motivating for us to carry on our efforts when we see young students taking on big responsibility and caring for the societal good.

It is the hope and support provided by activities like this which transform many lives in Thenur and surrounding areas. We are highly grateful to this wonderful young group and their parents- Padma Ramakrishnan, Durga Chandran, Sumathi Yalamanchili, Swarna Modi and Usha Cherukuri for their great initiative. Please share this wonderful story with your friends and family.
